Despite coming from a small town on the outskirts of Poland and beginning formal education at the age of ten, Jeremi Lukanus achieved a milestone performance at Carnegie Hall in December 2024. Recent prize winner of the 2024 Los Angeles Liszt International Competition, he has performed in multiple European countries, including Poland, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and Italy. He was also the winner of 2024 American Protégé International Concerto Competition, submitting a recording of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto.
Jeremi has presented fundraising concerts in Erwin Presbyterian Church in Tennessee, performing in support for the Ukrainian initiative Lift Up Ukraine in 2022 and for Flood Relief in 2025. His passion for uncommonly played works was acknowledged in 2023 at the Knoxville International Music Festival and Competition where he was a Special Prize winner for the interpretation of Fantasy Negro No. 1 by Florence Price. Mr. Lukanus also participated in Brian Field’s project by performing his “Three Passions for Our Tortured Planet” at the Recital in the Chopin Manor in Duszniki-Zdrój, Poland in 2023.
Jeremi has performed a series of 10 outdoor mini concerts on an outdoor piano Cadenza for an advertising collaboration with Fulco System and the town of Duszniki-Zdrój, Poland in 2020. In the same year he also appeared in Śniadanie na trawie (Breakfast on the Lawn), an outdoor concert in Resort Park in Polanica-Zdrój, Poland.
During the pandemic in 2021, he recorded an Eastern Recital at the Ćwiklińska Theater in Polanica-Zdrój, with the support of TV KŁodzko, who also conducted his first televised interview. His first national appearance took place in 2025, when he was featured on Dzień Dobry TVN in their Warsaw studio.
Jeremi Łukanus has been invited multiple times to perform at the International Chopin Festival "Lato z Chopinem" in Busko-Zdrój in Poland. He was an active participant of the 2024 Vivace Piano Festival in Wilmington, NC, as well as 2023 and 2024 Valencia International Performance Academy and Festival in Spain. He has actively participated in masterclasses with many renowned artists, such as Marc-André Hamelin, Boris Berman, Alexander Kobrin, Boris Slutsky, Sofya Gulyak, and Yakov Kasman.
Jeremi is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Piano Performance at Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where he studies under tutelage of Alexander Shtarkman. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from East Tennessee State University studying with Eva Polgar, Marianna Prjevalskaya, and Esther Park.
Outside of his professional career, Jeremi enjoys hiking, tasting diverse types of coffee and walking with his dog, Scout. He is passionate about composition and arranging, piano craftsmanship, tuning and rebuilding, and professional recording. His greatest aspiration is to build a career that he could combine his many interests into a single artistic journey.
